The following is a list of courses that V Club has on offer each year for your growth and well-being. We also have world-class teachers visiting our studio and providing workshops for our cliental. Current Courses:

Fitness Australia 15 CEC Accreditation & Yoga Alliance 200hr Accreditation

This is a 200hr intensive course spread over 3 months to a year long course that totally immerses the students in the knowledge of a basic Power Yoga Sequence, introduction to the history of Yoga and intense personal development to prepare the student for the role as a teacher. This course introduces the students to anatomy and physiology of Hatha Yoga, Patanjali’s Astanga limb Yoga path and many other philosophies.

The course is aimed at producing knowledgeable, authentic teachers who can teach at any venue and be powerful! We are committed to teaching Yoga in a way that is accessible to our modern society, demystified and practical for daily application and ultimately as a way of life.

The modules focus on an in-depth understanding of the anatomy and physiology of Hatha Yoga, Power Yoga asana (postures) and assisting, selecting and designing different sequences, Yoga physiology and philosophy, introduction to Ayurveda, meditation and pranayama, counseling skills and techniques, connecting with your class, and practical teaching experience with feedback.

Duncan Peak, Power Living’s founder and the course director, leads the training and is assisted by guest lecturers who are subject matter experts in their field of study, e.g. Yoga philosophy, anatomy & physiology, etc. This is an amazing course to build a foundation for a lifetime of learning.

Our courses are also valuable to students who may not be interested in teaching, but want to immerse themselves to develop a greater understanding of this great practice.

Qualified Fitness Instructors

If you have a fitness industry background with current Certificate III or IV fitness qualifications, you will receive recognition of prior study, enabling you to earn 15 CEC points through Fitness Australia and register with Fitness Australia as a Yoga Instructor.

All Course Participants

Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a 200hr accreditation from Yoga Alliance (USA). This will allow you to apply to be a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) through Yoga Alliance (USA) and obtain Provisional Membership with the Yoga Teachers Association of Australia (YTAA). Following registration with either body you will be able to obtain insurance covering you for Yoga teaching.

Yoga Practice Requirement

To successfully complete the teacher training course, you need to have at least six months Yoga practice experience of an average of 2-3 Power Yoga or Vinyasa Yoga classes per week, ideally, at V Club or Power Living’s studio. This requirement must be met before completion of the course.

POWER YOGA ASSISTING PROGRAM – 20 HOURS

Power Living's Power Yoga Assisting Program is a world-class training opportunity to learn from the best in the business, Duncan Peak, the founder of Power Living Australia and Fiona Leard, Yoga teacher to Olympic and Elite athletes. This new program is unique to Power Living and the first of its kind in Australia.

Our program is designed to teach Assistants, through touch, presence and direction, to help increase a student's awareness of their own alignment and bring them into their bodies. We are committed to teaching Power Yoga, a dynamic practice with safe postures. Our assisting techniques support that aim rather than seeking to bring students into the "perfect" pose or contortionism.

Our Assisting Program fosters a karmic Yoga atmosphere at our studio and on our retreats where assistants act in service to the students, enhancing their practice experience. Assisting is a chance to develop another dimension of personal practice as you become aware not only of your own body and energy but also others' unique bodies and the union of energy that occurs through an assist. The assistant plays a unique role during a Yoga class as their hands and energy serves as a bridge between the teacher's words and the experience in a student's body.

The aims of our assisting course are to teach:
• Safe, effective assisting and adjusting techniques
• Different types of assists
• Safe alignment, joint movements and muscles engaged in postures
• How to support and enhance the practice experience for the student

You will:
• Enhance your teaching in the classroom and working one on one with students
• Gain confidence as an Assistant Teacher
• Develop a deeper understanding of their personal Yoga practice
• Have opportunities to join the Power Living assisting team on retreats or in the studio

Students enrolled in the Power Yoga 200-hr Teacher Training course are required to participate in this program.

If you have completed a Yoga Teacher training course previously or are interested in refreshing and enhancing your assisting skills, or simply interested in deepening your personal Yoga practice, you may apply to participate in this program alone. No previous experience is required to participate in the Power Living Assisting Program.

The purpose of this 40-day program is to lead you into your own personal revolution. Like the great masters, you will come to understand that all health and vitality is the outward reflection of a pure heart and right intent.

As you start to align your mind with the principles of the program, you will start to see that transformation is natural. You will lose weight if that is what needs to happen; you will become less reactive and calmer; your negative patterns will start to release their grip on you. You will discover that external changes happen when we adjust the inner workings of our minds – when we adopt a philosophical foundation that gives our growth greater purpose and meaning.

Each week of the program is centered on a theme, which will be the focus for your yoga and meditation practice, your new diet insight and your personal development. These themes are outlined in our companion book, Baron Baptiste’s “40 Days to Personal Revolution”, and will be the topic for discussion at the weekly community meeting.

The program includes:
Power Yoga Practice  - 5 times a week at the studio, practice any of the classes that suit your schedule
Home Practice – one day a week of practicing Power Yoga at home, you can follow along with the book, follow a DVD or audio CD or just listen to your body and create your own routine
Rest Day – take one day off from your yoga practice each week for a day of active rest, enjoying your life and other activities
Daily Power Meditation – integrate a time for stillness and presence into your daily routine, starting with 5 minutes twice a day for the first week then increasing each week to 30 minutes twice daily in the final week
A Balancing Diet – tools to help you look at your diet consciously introduce more natural and whole foods and learn to use your intuition and listen to your body to guide what you eat
Community Meetings – participate in our weekly meetings at V Club led by one of the senior Power Yoga teachers to share your experience with the group, make new friends and strengthen our community
Journaling/Excavation Questions – keep a weekly journal during the journey to bring awareness to the beliefs, ideas and scenarios in your life that hold you back and give you strength
